Essentials of SAC reporting

This workshop examines SAC basics – the minimum a user needs to know to help in transitioning from BW reports to the corresponding reports in SAC. Rather than a broad look at SAC overall, the session explored the essentials: how to navigate to SAC, how to find and run a report, how to export data to Excel, and how to perform common tasks when working with data.

For a review of more comprehensive look at SAC functionality, check out the two recordings in the “Introduction to….” sections below.

Note: the workshop was run prior to the removal of the BW Funds Management (Distributed), Grants Management (Distributed), Grants Management (Faculty) and FASB reporting folders, so there is some discussion about how that removal will impact the user community.

Recording duration: 1 hour

Introduction to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Two versions of the Introduction to SAC workshops have been run and recorded. The SAC functionality explored is the same in both. The slight difference in content is due only the reports used to demonstrate the concepts: Grants Management (GM) or Funds Management (FM). The duration of either recording is 1.5 hours.

Building an SAC Dashboard (aka Story)

The ability to build your own story is a powerful feature that may appeal to SAC users who want to develop visuals to view and analyze their data. However, creating visuals is not a requirement for using SAC. Many users will find that simply running a report developed by our BW Development team is sufficient.

A one-hour workshop was offered and recorded on February 10, 2025 . We invite you to watch the entire recording.
