A recent change in the Firefox security settings may affect your ability to view reports with that browser. When you click on a report to open it, you may get a message asking you to upgrade to the latest version of Java. Alternatively, the action may just hang, in which case you will see a progress bar but your report never appears on the screen. If that happens, you will need to take the following steps to view your reports.
In Windows
- Quit Firefox and go to your Control Panel
- Select the Java applet
- Click on Security tab
- Click on the Edit Site List button
- Click on the Add button
- Type in: https://www.bu.edu and then click the OK button
- Close out of Java
- Load Firefox
- Log on to EOS Thin Client (bu.edu/link)
- If you see an RSD Roger Software Distribution SA Java window, click on the Run button
- You should now see your report.
You should only need to take these steps once for any computer on which you are using EOS Thin Client and this issue only occurs with Mozilla Firefox (Internet Explorer has not shown the same symptoms).
The EOS Thin Client vendor is working on a solution for this Java/Firefox/EOS Thin Client compatibility bug and we will post an update here when they have a fix. Meanwhile, please feel free to submit a Help request if you have any questions.
