BU login name and kerberos password

If you don’t already have a login name and password, you will be required to get one in order to use courseware. Students and faculty can apply for a BU login name online. Non-registered students and visiting faculty can apply for a guest account online. Once you have completed the online form, you must present your current Terrier Card (BU ID) or other valid ID to confirm your application. There are three locations to complete this step. Please follow the instructions for your location in the list below:

Charles River Campus

Present your ID at the IT Help Center.

Medical Campus

Present your BU ID at the Alumni Medical Library Computing Help Desk, which is located on the 11th floor of the Instructional “L” building in room L-1109.

Online Students

After you have been accepted by Boston University, check the e-mail address you specified in your application. You will receive an e-mail that contains information about your new Boston University account. From this e-mail, you will be able to change your Kerberos password and register for classes.

Any issues with setting up your new account should be directed to your Distance Education Student Services Coordinator.
