There is a request for a new “Link” for Advisors. Where that role is defined on the Directory and where a set of functions is also defined (like the Faculty Link). Student Record access would be granted based on the advisor relationship to the student. This is a relationship currently defined and managed on the mainframe. The decisions regarding what functions live where can be made once the “Link” is built by IS&T. The disovery process would determine the feasibility of building the new Link.

A temporary solution was put in place for the interim until the permanent solution can be defined and developed.
