BioSquare

This state-of-the-art laboratory and research facility was built to support innovation in biomedical research and science. Through its integrated design and construction process, it became the first laboratory building in New England to achieve LEED Certification under the Core and Shell system.

LEED Highlights

  • Incorporated white roofs to reduce the heat island effect
  • Commissioned building energy systems and performed measurement and verification procedures
  • 90% recycling rate for construction waste
  • More than 10% recycled content and 20% regional materials incorporated into the building
  • More than 75% of the occupied spaces are daylit
  • More than 90% of the occupied spaces have views to the outside
