What to Expect
A medical oncologist will provide chemotherapy drugs. These drugs are typically given intravenously on a regular schedule. These drugs are toxic to the cancer but also cause damage to other tissues, so they often have strong side effects. These drugs do not cure the cancer but can extend life. Common drugs used are Docetaxel, Cabazitaxel, Mitoxantrone, and Estramustine.
