Kee Chan Honored with Yale University New Professional Award

Assistant Professor Kee Chan has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Yale University Eric Mood New Professional Award. This honor recognizes the career of an alumnus/a who is a promising new professional in the field of public health. Chan received her PhD (epidemiology of microbial diseases) from the Yale School of Public Health in 2007.

“I feel very honored that the Yale community recognized my research on evaluating effective interventions on HIV, hepatitis, and newborn diseases.” said Chan. “This award is an acknowledgement of my potential as a researcher, teacher, and leader in public health, and I am grateful for my doctoral training at Yale and the opportunity to work in the field of public health.”

Chan’s current research interests include public health genomics, decision sciences, Markov modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, genetic disorders, autism, health policy, interventions, genetic testing and screening.

Chan will be recognized at this year’s Yale School of Public Health Alumni Day in New Haven, CT on October 11, 2013.

Yale School of Public Health, the Board of Directors, and the Association of Yale Alumni established the New Professional Award in 2005, in memory of Eric W. Mood, a teacher and mentor at the college.
