Joan Salge Blake Named Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Clinical Associate Professor of Nutrition Joan Salge Blake has been named a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. Designation as a Fellow recognizes outstanding professional accomplishments, valuable service to the profession and the public, and a quest for lifelong learning.
Recognition as a Fellow distinguishes those who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of dietetics.
Salge Blake is a past recipient of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association’s Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award and was named the Academy’s 2007 Outstanding Dietetic Educator. In 2009, she received the Academy’s Outstanding Dietitian award and in 2012, she was nominated by Boston University for the U.S. Professor of the Year Award.
She is the author of Nutrition & You; Nutrition & You: Core Concepts to Good Health; and Eat Right the E.A.S.Y. Way, as well as co-author of Nutrition: From Science to You. Her areas of expertise include healthy eating, weight management, and obesity.
Salge Blake also serves as a National Media Spokesperson for the AND and has conducted more than 1,000 media interviews on a variety of nutrition topics.
