BU Co-Sponsoring Workshop on Stuttering

In honor of International Stuttering Awareness Day, Sargent College and the National Stuttering Association partner each year to educate speech-language pathologists about the evaluation and treatment of this complex disorder, while hosting a Family Fun Day for children who stutter and their families. This year’s workshop “Stuttering Therapy: The Littles, Middles and Teens” will be held on Saturday, October, 25 at BU Sargent College. Registration begins at 7:30 and space is available for those interested.

Sargent College Clinical Associate Professor Diane Constantino will host the event and co-lead the program for parents. One of 170 Board Certified Specialists on Fluency and Fluency Disorders nationally, Constantino serves as Director of the Joseph Germono Fluency Center at Boston University and as the Continuing Education Coordinator for the American Board of Fluency and Fluency Disorders.

This workshop is open to speech-language pathologists, teachers, speech pathology students, special educators, parents of children who stutter and school-based psychologists and counselors. Those who qualify will receive .4 ASHA Continuing Education Units.
