Doctoral Student Awarded Prestigious ASHFoundation Scholarship

lizHellerMurray_photoSpeech, Language & Hearing Sciences doctoral student Liz Heller Murray received the prestigious ASHFoundation New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to strong doctoral candidates who are pursuing teacher-investigator careers in the academic environment. Murray will use the funding to help further her research on voice disorders in adult and pediatric populations.

Ms. Heller Murray is a doctoral student in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Boston University, a lab member in the Stepp Lab for Sensorimotor Rehabilitation Engineering, and a clinical fellow in the Pediatric Voice and Resonance program at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her research interests involve working on improvements in both rehabilitation techniques and assistive devices for children and adults with voice and resonance dysfunction.
