1/7/08: Boston University Offers The Complete Golfer Workshop
Workshop will address individual needs of golfers such as strength and flexibility, injury prevention, and mental preparedness
(Boston) – Whether you are a recreational or competitive golfer, chances are there is room for your game to improve. A greater understanding of your body, strength and conditioning principals and being mentally prepared are all essential areas for maximum performance. As part of the Complete Athlete workshop series, the BU Athletic Enhancement Center is now offering The Complete Golfer.
The Complete Athlete workshops are designed to help lower scores while helping to prevent injury. Any golfer looking to achieve athletic goals in a timely manner and add enjoyment to their training regime can benefit from these educational sessions. The Complete Golfer workshop brings together staff members from the Athletic Enhancement Center and the Physical Therapy Center to work with athletes on training specific to their golfing needs. In the golf workshop the areas of strength, power, flexibility and balance will be emphasized. In each workshop, the ratio of staff to athletes is purposely kept low, so each participant receives personalized help and attention. The Complete Golfer instructor to golfer ratio is kept at 4-1.
“The Complete Golfer workshop acts as a supplement to other training and coaching allowing the athlete to reach their full potential,” explains Adam Naylor, Ed.D, director of AEC and sport psychology coach. “Each participant will leave with an individualized performance enhancement plan.”
The Complete Golfer workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at BU’s new Ryan Center for Sports Medicine. The clinic is $199 and requires pre-registration. For more information or to register, please visit www.bu.edu/aec.
