Study at the Institut d’Avignon
This summer, Ian McDavid spent six weeks studying at the Institut d’Avignon in France, an experience he describes as both academically rewarding and culturally enriching. While in Avignon, he completed courses on frameworks of justice and injustice and the history of Francophone thought, all while improving his confidence and flexibility in the French language.
“Avignon itself was a charmingly beautiful medieval town with a lively festival and something interesting hiding behind every corner within its walls. It served as an excellent springboard to see nearby places and was small enough to not be overwhelming for my first visit to France. In short, the people, the studies, the food, and the picturesque surroundings made this an experience I can’t recommend enough and that has noticeably improved my comfort and flexibility in the French language, all in a 6-week blur.”
