Webb Wins Susan K. Jackson Award
Lillie Webb, Lecturer in French, has been named the faculty recipient of the Susan K. Jackson award for 2024. The award, which honors those who create and nurture community in the College of Arts & Sciences, was established after the passing of Susan Jackson, a longtime faculty member and senior associate dean in CAS, in 2017.
In Lillie’s award letter, her efforts toward fostering a sense of community in Global House and our department were highly commended. Many colleagues noted Lillie’s devotion to being a student mentor, focus on growing the Carrie O’Connor Memorial Travel Fund, and hosting a variety of events for students and faculty alike. Lillie’s role as Director of Global House was particularly applauded, as her commitment to fostering community and intercultural literacy have greatly contributed to the success of the program.
Lillie will be presented the Susan K. Jackson Award at the final CAS Faculty Meeting of the 2023-2024 academic year later this month. We are proud of Lillie and this amazing achievement, and are excited to share this accomplishment with the Romance Studies Community!
