Dori Hutchinson
Executive Director
Dr. Dori Hutchinson is the Executive Director at the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation where she has dedicated her service for the last 41 years. Dori leads and oversees national and international research, work force training and technical assistance and most notably our Services Division. The aspects of Psychiatric Rehabilitation focuses on employment, education, aging and wellness for young adults and individuals who live with serious mental health conditions. Dori guides the overall vision of the center including strategy, fundraising, grantsmanship, contracts, mentorship and delivery of innovative services.
Dori has expertise in adult mental health and role recovery as well as college mental health and wellness for students who live with serious mental health conditions. Over the last 41 years she has developed, evaluated and delivered innovative adult and college mental health services that aim to shift the trajectory away from disease, dysfunction and disability to community inclusion, meaningful citizenship and wellness. Dr. Hutchinson provides training nationally to faculty, employers, students, service providers, programs, and systems of care in psychiatric rehabilitation, college mental health services, suicide prevention, adult recovery education and program evaluation.
In addition, she is serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences where she teaches clinical skills to emerging healthcare professionals. She is a long-standing board member of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association/Foundation (PRA/PRF) and also sits on several local advisory boards of community mental health programs. She served for 7 years as a Faculty-in-Residence at BU, living amongst first year students, and continues to provide supportive counseling to Title IX respondents.
