Paul M. B. Gutierrez is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Boston University. He was previously a Chancellor’s Fellow at UC Berkeley, School of Law. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Brown University, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a B.A. from the College of William & Mary.

His research explores the intersections of political theory, political economy, and law, particularly within the historical context of the settler colonial U.S. His current project is on property and time in Revolutionary America and the Early Republic as related to nationhood, race, inheritance, inequality, and institutions of perpetual property like corporations.
