Ryan McNaughton

Ryan McNaughton is the Lead Project Engineer of Primetaz, LLC. He joined Primetaz in June 2022 with co-founders Professor Xin Zhang, Dr. Stephan Anderson, and Professor Xiaoguang Zhao after receiving his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University. Throughout his doctoral studies, Ryan devised algorithms for processing magnetic resonance images (MRI) to generate harmonious multiparametric quantitative MRI maps and to calculate accurate volumes of brain tissue, which facilitates large-scale, multi-site imaging studies. These works, among others, have resulted in two peer-reviewed journal publications and a United States patent. Ryan is also a Trainee Member of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. During his time with Primetaz, Ryan aims to develop MRI surface coil technology that is easily adoptable in the clinic and will improve both scan efficiency and image quality.
