Tianyu Wang

Assistant Professor, ECE

The Wang research group is interested in studying different forms of information processing that can plausibly exist in natural and artificial systems. For example, by re-examining the connection between photonics and computing, they are able to gain insights on how to engineer better computing, sensing, and imaging systems that maximally extracts the computing power intrinsically embedded in optical processes. This principle has led to optical neuromorphic processors and sensors that are faster, more sensitive, and more energy efficient than traditional systems solely based on digital electronics.
