Björn Reinhard

The main research areas in the Reinhard Laboratory are Bioplasmonics, Nano-Bio Interface and Materials Science. We develop plasmonic nano-scale probes to probe, control, and reverse-engineer biological functionality. We are particularly interested in elucidating the fundamental principles that govern cell-nanoparticle interactions, spatial regulation of signaling, and biomimetic energy harvesting systems.

Catherine Klapperich

Dr. Klapperich’s research is focused on engineering medical devices for trans women’s and women’s health, use in low resource settings, and at the point of care. Current projects include on-body physiological monitoring, disposable microfluidic diagnostics and minimally instrumented devices to enable molecular testing. Her work includes diagnostics for CT-NG, HPV and other sexually transmitted infections.

Shyamsunder Erramilli

Professor Erramilli works on developing high-resolution infrared microscopy for studying biological systems. Images with spatial and temporal information add to our understanding of these systems.
