Join us for a free new play reading of Elizabeth Keckley & Mary Lincoln: in Black & White by writer and actor Gloria Reuben.

This work explores the dynamic life of Elizabeth Keckley and her relationship with the Lincoln family, as well as her imprint during the American Civil War. Reuben portrayed Keckley in the acclaimed Steven Spielberg film Lincoln, which inspired her work on this project.

This project is underwritten by Boston University School of Theatre, Massachusetts Historical Society, and the Harvard University History Department. Gloria Reuben will be appearing as Elizabeth Keckley; Christine Hamel as Mary Lincoln; Kristin Leahey is the Creative Producer and Dramaturg; and Boston University, College of Fine Arts, School of Theatre students Jacob Hise, Nirah Michel, M Morris, and Sofi Rosales are the Associate Creative Producers.
