Former Pardee Director Named Dean of Pardee School of Global Studies
Former Pardee Center Director Adil Najam has been named inaugural Dean of the new Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. The school, which is set to open in the fall of 2014, brings together existing area studies programs and the International Relations department within the College of Arts and Sciences.
Professor Najam has written and edited numerous books and more than 100 scholarly articles exploring sustainable development, the impact of global environmental governance in developing countries, and philanthropy among immigrant communities in the United States. He served as Director for the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future from 2007-2011 and most recently was co-editor of a 2013 Pardee Center edited volume titled “South Asia 2060: Envisioning Regional Futures.”
