Prof. Adil Najam Participates in HDR Advisory Board Meeting
Prof. Adil Najam, the Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and a Boston University Professor of International Relations and of Geography and Environment, participated in the second meeting of the Advisory panel for the 2011 Human Development Report, produced by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The theme of the 2011 Human Development Report is ‘Sustainability and Equity’ and Prof. Adil Najam was recently appointed on the Advisory Panel to assist in conceptualizing and shaping the 2011 report. The Human Development Report is independently commissioned by the UNDP. The first Human Development Report in 1990 opened with the simply stated premise that has guided all subsequent Reports: “People are the real wealth of a nation.” With its wealth of empirical data and innovative approach to measuring development, the Human Development Report had a profound impact on development thinking around the world.
