Stephanie Edwards Presents at 2011 Mardi Gras Conference

Former Pardee Summer Fellow Stephanie Edwards will be presenting this week at the 2011 Mardi Gras Conference at Louisiana State University. The conference is hosted by the English Graduate Student Association under the theme “Echoes of Trauma: Exploring the Intersections of Trauma and Culture.”

Ms. Edwards’ presentation is rooted in her research completed during her fellowship and is titled: “The Storm Never Ends: Institutional Victimization in Post-Disaster Relief.” It explores the practice of collective “naming” of structures that create victimization in post-disaster environments and concludes that such practices reveal new possibilities for recovery.

Ms Edwards’ presentation builds on her research conducted during the 2010 Pardee Summer Fellows Program.
