Pardee Center Seeks Graduate Assistants for Development That Works Conference

The Frederick S Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Range Future seeks up to four research assistants for a short-term assignment related to our Development That Works conference on March 31, 2011. Candidates must be able to commit to attending the all-day conference on March 31 and to complete writing assignments related to the conference report by no later than Friday, April 15.

We are interested in graduate students with strong writing skills, and substantive knowledge and keen interest in global development issues.

The research assistants will:

  1. Serve as rapporteur for one session at the Development That Works Conference and produce a written report on it.
  2. Produce a second, short article on one aspect of global development that is discussed in one of the conference sessions.
  3. Assist with other tasks on the day of the conference as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Current BU graduate student with substantive knowledge of global development issues.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to commit to attending the full day conference on Thursday, March 31, 2011 and to complete the writing assignments by Friday, April 15. Students will also be asked to attend a pre-conference preparatory meeting in mid-March.
