Prof. Najam Speaks at Harvard Event on Jinnah’s Anniversary

Prof. Adil Najam, Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future and Boston University Professor of International Relations and of Geography and Environment, joined Prof. Akbar Ahmed, the Ibn-i-Khuldun Chair at American University and one of the leading experts on Islam in America as well as on Pakistan’s founding father Mohammad Ali Jinnah, at a special event organized at the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University to commemorate Mr. Jinnah’s 135th birth anniversary. The event began with a lecture by Dr. Ahmed on “Is Islam Compatible with Democracy?” followed by a conversation between Professors Najam and Ahmed, moderated by Prof. Adil Najam.
The discussion centered around the life and achievements of Mr. Jinnah and what can be learnt in contemporary Pakistan from the life of its founding father.
