Yusuf Gives Presentation at Nuclear Scholars Meeting
Moeed Yusuf, Graduate Research Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University, presented at the Center for Strategic and International Studies‘ (CSIS) Nuclear Scholars Initiative meeting in Washington D.C. on July 10. Members of the Initiative are officials and scholars associated with all areas of the nuclear complex.
In his presentation, Yusuf discussed the US role in nuclear crises across the world. Specifically, he focused
on the South Asian nuclear conundrum, studying the US role in diffusing tensions in future India-Pakistan nuclear crises. The presentation generated a lively debate on whether the US, as the world’s super power has a moral responsibility to intervene diplomatically or if it ought to let the two countries in question hammer out their own differences. Yusuf will be developing a policy paper to be published as part of a compilation by CSIS.
Yusuf is a doctoral candidate and Senior Teaching Fellow in the Political Science Department at Boston University. He is the author of Pardee Paper No. 3 titled “Does Nuclear Energy Have a Future?”
