Dr. Najam presents at Wageningen University

Prof. Adil Najam, Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, spoke to students and faculty at the Wageningen University, the Netherlands, on the forthcoming climate change negotiations and the longer-range impacts of climate policy on global development.

Attended by a large number of faculty and students, Prof. Najam’s talk focussed on the why cliamate change (a) cannot be understood except as a longer-range challenge and (b) why we need to view climate change as a development challenge.

Prof. Najam focussed specifically on climate change policy and specially on what it will mean for the development prospects of the poorest countries in the world. This will be especially important as climate impacts shifts the policy focus on climate adaptation from climate mitigation.

Prof. Najam also introduced the group to the research and publications of the Frederick S. Pardee Center.
