Pardee Faculty Fellows at Future of Food Conference

Pardee Center Faculty Fellows — Prof. Henrik Selin, Prof. Jim McCann and Prof. Adil Najam — were all involved in an all day conference on "The Future of Food: Transatlantic Perspective" organized by the Institute for Human Sciences at Boston University.

The day and half conference brought together experts and practitioners from across the globe, including many from Europe.

Prof. Jim McCann, Pardee Center Faculty Fellow, Professor of History, and Acting Director of the Africa Studies Center was the moderator of the first session on "From Farm to Fork: The Global Food Chain."

Prof. Henrik Selin, Pardee Center Fellow and Professor of International Relations, was one of the speakers on this panel. The panel focused on food production and the industrialization of agriculture.

Prof. Adil Najam, Director of the Pardee Center, was the moderator of the next two panels on "The End of Cheap Food: Food and Geopolitics" and on "What’s in What You Eat: Food Safety in a New Ecology."

The fourth panel of the conference – on "Eating Green: Food and Climate Change" – was moderated by Pardee Center Faculty Fellow and Professor of International Relations, Prof. Henrik Selin.
