Dr. Miquel Munoz, Pardee Center Post-Doctoral Fellow, will participate in climate change deliberations at the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) meeting in Bonn, Germany, from 29 March – 8 April 2009 .

The Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) was established under the Bali Action plan to enable the full, effective and sustained implementation of the Climate Change Convention through long-term cooperative action, now, up to and beyond 2012.

In particular, in this session in Bonn, the AWG-LCA will consider draft text on the possible components of the agreed outcome that is hoped will be adopted by the Conference of the Parties at its fifteenth session (COP15), describing areas of convergence in the ideas and proposals of Parties, exploring options for dealing with areas of divergence and identifying any gaps that might need to be filled in reaching an agreed outcome.
