Prof. Selin Presents at the Miller Center

Pardee Center Fellow Prof. Henrik Selin presented two papers at the National Conference on Climate Governance at the Miller Center of Public Affairs, University of Virginia on December 11 and 12, 2008.
The conference examined the challenges facing the United States at a moment of historic transition in the federal government and enormous economic turbulence. It considered American experiences to date in addressing climate change, particularly emphasizing state and local levels. It also considered models and lessons from abroad, and ways in which the U.S. might integrate its efforts with those of other nations and regions.
Prof. Selin’s two papers (co-authored with Prof. Stacy VanDeveer) were on "Global and Continental Climate Governance Challenges and Opportunities" and "Transatlantic Multilevel Relations and Climate Change Politics." Revised conference papers will be turned into a book edited by Barry Rabe and published by The Brookings Institution in the spring of 2009.
