Pardee Center Director speaks at Waltham, Houston, Santa Fe and Cambridge

Prof. Adil Najam, the Frederick S. Pardee Professor of Global Public Policy at Boston University and the Director of BU’s Frederick S.Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future gave a series of presentations this week at Brandeis University (Waltham, MA), Rice University (Houston, TX) and at the Santa Fe Council on International Relations (Santa Fe, NM).

On Tuesday, October 21, Prof. Najam gave a talk on Pakistan and on democracy in the Muslim World at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Brandeis University (BOLLI) in Waltham, MA.

On Friday, October 24, Prof. Najam presented a colloquium at the Center for the Study of Environment and Society at Rice University, Houston, TX, on “Globalization and Environment: 5 Propositions.”

Also on Friday, October 24, Prof. Najam was invited to speak at the James Baker Institute Students Forum, also at Rice University, Houstin, TX. His presentation was titled “Climate, Development and Human Security: The Challenge for Developing Countries.”

On Saturday, October 25, Prof. Najam gave a presentation to The Santa Fe Council on International Relations, in Santa Fe, NM, on “Climate Change, Development and Security” in the International Lecture Series on Limits to Growth.

On Tuesday, October 28, Prof. Najam will speak as part of the Fall 2008 Distinguished Speaker Series of the Harvard University Institute for Learning in Retirement in Cambrdige, MA, on “In the Eye of the Storm: Pakistan Today.”
