Pardee Center Director looks at the implications of the February 18 elections in Pakistan, both before and after the event.

Elections in this key state are being described as “historic” by all and it is clear that these elections will shape the immediate as well as longer-range future of Pakistan as well as that of its strategically important neighborhood.

Prof. Adil Najam commented extensively on the elections to the international media as well as media in Pakistan, including on his blog All Things Pakistan.

His commentary on the elections before the event included an op-ed in The New Straits Times titled “Things Will Get Worse Before They Get Better” and his commentary after the elections included a television appearance on FRANCE24’s discussion show The Debate, and a radio show appearance in National Public Radio (NPR) show Midmorning.
