CMTM Faculty Dr. John Ngo Promoted to Associate Professor
Join us in giving a warm congratulations to our faculty member Dr. John T. Ngo on being recently promoted to Associate Professor with tenure!!
Dr. Ngo is part of the Biomedical Engineering department here in the College of Engineering at BU, and is affiliated with not only CMTM but also with the Biological Design Center (BDC), as well as running his own research lab. His work bridges cell biology, biotechnology, and nanotechnology to develop new tools for managing biomolecules in living cells and organisms – work with translational implications for better understanding cellular function and disease. Supported by a major NIH grant, he has secured four patents and is credited with advances in the development of cell therapies and tissue engineered systems. He is a past Reidy Family Career Development Professor at BU, and was one of CMTM’s inaugural seed grant recipients for his collaborative project Multiscale approaches for engineering and understanding mechanical communication between cells with Dr. Joe Larkin of BU’s College of Arts & Sciences departments of Biology & Physics. Dr. Ngo has published 16 articles in leading science and engineering journals, including Nature Biotechnology and Cell Chemical Biology.
