BU Libraries Search
BU Libraries Search is a one-stop tool for finding a wide range of materials from the BU Libraries. You can use it to look for books, journals, music scores, videos, audio, and other items in the library’s collection. It also includes eBooks, articles, streaming, and online materials from many sources provided by the library.
BU Libraries Search: BeyondBU
- BeyondBU is a search option available in BU Libraries Search when you interact with the advanced search bar. Use this search instance for going beyond what is owned physically or bought online by the libraries, or accessing records for journals and articles the library does not subscribe to. You can request these materials using InterLibrary Loan.
BU Libraries eJournals Search
- eJournals search is a specific version of BU Libraries Search that is limited to print and online journals. You can search materials by title, identifier, or subject to browse our holdings.
Scholarly Materials
- BU Libraries Spotlight contains browsable collections curated by BU librarians.
- Databases A-Z offers a complete list of all subscription databases, including multidisciplinary and subject-specific databases for all of your research needs.
- Course Materials (also known as Course Reserves) contain reading lists for your courses, broken down by each week’s readings.
- Research Guides are librarian-curated guides to get you started with your research. Guides offer recommended resources as well as tips and tricks to enhance your research skills.
- WorldCat is a global catalog of library materials. BU WorldCat Discovery is a local version that makes it easier to search BU Libraries collections.
Special & Archival Collections
- OpenBU is our institutional repository that provides access to BU’s research and scholarship, including Theses and Dissertations.
- BU Digital Library provides access to locally digitized historical and cultural heritage items from archives and special collections across Boston University.
- BU ArchivesSpace provides descriptive Finding aids for unique collections housed across Boston University Libraries. Access historical documents, primary sources, or work with our archivists to expand your research.
