Event Highlights: The Epistemology of the Law of Targeting
On Friday, February 25, the Center for the Study of Europe hosted this virtual lecture by Ioannis Kalpouzos, Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School and Visiting Researcher at the Center. Dr. Kalpouzos specializes in public international law, international criminal law, the law of war and human rights law. In this lecture, “The Epistemology of the Law of Targeting: Open Source Evidence and Litigation in Europe and Beyond,” Kalpouzos presented his current research on evidence in the law of targeting and on the history of the legal concept of war involving non-state armed groups. Responses were given by Mohammad Al Abdallah, Executive Director of the Syria Justice and Accountability Center, and Tom Dannenbaum, Assistant Professor of International Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
