3rd French Consulate in Boston Excellence Award (Nominate Students Before May 1st)

The Cultural Service of the Consulate of France in Boston, along with the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France to the United States, is pleased to organize for the third consecutive year the presentation of the “French Consulate in Boston Excellence Award.”
After the very positive experiences of the past two years, which saw the victory of Saiful Saleem from Boston University and Jean-Paul Honegger from Bowdoin College, and the launch of the first France on Campus Award at the national level, we decided to continue recognizing a deserving student in New England, with an innovation this year, in connection with the creation of the new France Alumni USA platform which will be online in the fall of 2016.

The prize will be awarded to a student who travelled to France as part of their university studies and has been particularly active in talking about their experience studying in France and encouraging their fellow classmates go too. A video/portrait of the winner will be broadcast on the France Alumni USA website.

Any teacher or staff member in a higher education institution located in one of five states of the consular district of Boston has the opportunity to nominate one candidate with the attached form. Please note that we can only accept one application per teacher/staff member.

The criteria are: quality of the experience in France (for example, if the student notably improved their level of French during their time spent in France or interned or participated in particularly notable extracurricular activities during their stay), sharing their experience with other students (appointment as “student ambassador” for studies in France, producing a guide on France, organizing a meeting to discuss their studies in France, etc.), and the candidate’s future projects in relation to France (further studies, career plans).

If you wish to nominate one of your students, please fill out and email the signed form to culture@consulfrance-boston.org before Sunday, May 1st at 11:59pm EST.

The prize (in the form of a “letter of commendation“) will be accompanied by a gift and will be awarded by the Consul General (or the Cultural Attaché, if he is not available). All other candidates will receive a certificate of excellence which will be sent by mail.

Thank you very much in advance for your participation and may the best student win!
