The Center for the Study of Europe at Boston University, in cooperation with the American Council on Germany, welcomes Ruprecht Polenz, who is travelling as part of 2014 Dr. Henry A. Kissinger Transatlantic Speaker Series.
Ruprecht Polenz is a German politician and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) political party. He has been a member of German Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs committee since 1994 and its chairman since 2005. The focal points of his parliamentary work are foreign and security policy, with a regional emphasis on the Middle East, in particular Iran, Turkey and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He is following the political effects of Islam both in this region and beyond with particular interest.
