The EU Inside Out – A Panel Discussion

On October 23rd, 2013, Boston University was honored to host Petr Gandalovič, Czech Ambassador to the US, and Peter Kmec, Slovak Ambassador to the US, for the third event in our “EU Inside Out” series of conversations with European Ambassadors. This panel discussion actually took place and discussed the 24 years after the “Velvet Revolution.” This was the event that contributed to the fall of Czechoslovakia’s communist rule. In addition, it happened to be 20 years since the “Velvet Divorce,” which was the breakup of Czechoslovakia into two separate and independent states. Accompanying the discussion was a poster exhibit that was provided by the Czech and Slavic Association of Boston.

With Alan Berger, former Senior Editorial writer for the Boston Globe, taking the role of moderator, the audience grew to over 100 students.

WBUR aired this Panel Discussion on November 10th, 2013.
