Germany and the Future of Europe – Max Kade Lecture

On May 9th, 2007, Boston University held a lecture entitled Germany and the Future of Europe, funded by the Max Kade Foundation. The guest speaker was former Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Joschka Fischer. He held those prestigious appointments in Germany from 1998 to 2005, serving alongside Chancellor at the time, Gerhard Schröder. Beginning in the 1970’s, Mr. Fischer dedicated almost 20 years, establishing himself as a key, influential figure within the West German Greens Political Party. Thanks to his clearly effective leadership, Mr. Fischer was able to guide the Greens to their first action in government.

Today, Mr. Fischer works as a managing partner at Joschka Fischer & Company, a consulting firm he co-founded in 2009.
