EPIC isn’t the only shared lab space on campus. Here are some other resources!
RASTIC
Robotics & Autonomous Systems Teaching and Innovation Center is a hands on robotics facility located a couple doors down from EPIC. RASTIC includes a soft robotics lab space, an arena for aerial and terrestrial vehicles, a couple of 3D printers, electronics workbench, desktop size laser cutter and CNC mill for PCB boards and engraving plastic or metal. IDG Capital Student Innovation Center
The center is also referred to as Innovate@BU and is located right next to RASTIC. This space is all about entrepreneurship and they host extracurricular programs to help students explore turning their ideas into reality. SILAB
The Singh Imagineering Lab located is a makerspace for College of Engineering students only – but not for coursework – this is where you can make your personal projects. SILab has a mix of manufacturing equipment and hosts a number of workshops and competitions. BTEC
Bioengineering Technology & Entrepreneurship Center is a hands-on wet lab space where students can expand their skills related to biotechnology. The center includes a Molecular, Cellular, and Tissue Engineering Suite, Biosensors and Instrumentation Suite and a Digital and Predictive Medicine Design Suite. OPF
The Optoelectronics Processing Facility is a cleanroom with a variety of advanced equipment related to fabricating semiconductor and optoelectronic devices on a wafer to die level. This lab located at the Photonics Center (8 St Mary’s St) Room 816 is open for community use after completing equipment training. Learn more about OPF on their website.
SIF
The Scientific Instrument Facility is an advanced fab lab for all types of experimental hardware. This lab charges for its services and is open to the BU community and outside designers. SIF also has a Student Training Center where they offer a 9 week course on drafting and modern machine tools. SIF is located at 3 Cummington Mall in the basement of the Physics Research Building. EDF
