Advisor:
Evan’s research focuses on simulating global soil organic carbon using a data assimilation system with machine learning. Prior to arriving at BU, he earned his MS and BS from the Institute of Agricultural Remote Sensing & Information Technology Application at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. His passion for interdisciplinary research was cultivated during his minor in the Global Engagement Program and through professional experiences with various NGOs and UN agencies, including the Environmental Defense Fund, where he developed integrated SDG strategies for greenhouse gas mitigation. Here at BU, Evan is determined to uncover the dynamics of soil carbon and bridge the gap between natural and social sciences in the field of terrestrial carbon science.
