Evan is interested in applying earth observations, spatial datasets, and inferential methods to assess the impact of land policies on land-use and land-cover change in the conterminous United States, with a particular focus on SDGs 2, 13, and 15. Before joining BU, he earned both his MS and BS from the Institute of Agricultural Remote Sensing & Information Technology Applications at Zhejiang University. His passion for interdisciplinary research was inspired by his minor in International Development and work with various NGOs and UN agencies, including the Environmental Defense Fund, where he contributed to strategies for greenhouse gas mitigation in the food system.
