Dr. T R Lakshmanan and Dr. Lata Chatterjee Environmental Analysis & Policy Prize Awarded to Stephanie Hung!
The Dr. T R Lakshmanan and Dr. Lata Chatterjee Environmental Analysis & Policy Prize is named in honor of Earth & Environment Emeritus Professors T.R. Lakshmanan and Lata Chatterjee. Lata and “Laksh,” as he liked to be called, were a married team who made significant contributions through their academic scholarship and global service. Lata and Laksh’s impact has been felt through institutions such as the World Bank, United Nations, US AID, and the Clinton White House. Laksh was an eminent scholar with a larger-than-life personality. He is sorely missed by the academic community. This prize is dedicated in Laksh’s memory and to the remarkable impact that both academics have had at BU and beyond.
This year’s winner of the Dr. T. R. Lakshmanan and Dr. Lata Chatterjee Environmental Analysis & Policy Prize is Stephanie Hung!
Stephanie is graduating with a BA in Environmental Analysis and Policy and a BA in Architectural Studies, as well as an MS in Energy and Environment.
This year’s winner has a remarkable record of academic achievement and intellectual curiosity, which have allowed her to maintain an exceptional GPA while actively participating in a wide range of organizations and projects. Inside the classroom, she adapted software to understand how to increase the energy efficiency of the new data science building. Beyond the classroom, she is the president of the Hong Kong Student Association, a member of the Unofficial Project Collegiate Dance Team, and a Student Activities Office activities consultant. Finally, this student was recently invited to join the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
