Phoebe Wilcox awarded the Franklin C. Erickson Prize!

This year’s recipient of the Franklin C. Erickson Prize for an outstanding 3rd year student is Phoebe Wilcox!

Phoebe is majoring in Archaeological and Environmental Sciences and is an exceptional student who excels in all of her academic and co-curricular endeavors. With UROP support, Phoebe has worked in the Environmental Archaeology Laboratory on Professor Marston’s NSF funded project to explore the spatial patterning of agriculture at the ancient city of Gordion, in central Türkiye. This summer, Phoebe will join Prof. Marston in Athens, Greece, to take part in environmental sampling during excavations at the Ancient Athenian Agora. Phoebe brings her strong background in classics and history to the study of environmental archeology and paleoclimatology in our department, excelling in all her Earth & Environment courses and leaving a profound impression on every faculty member who has interacted with her.

Phoebe is truly an outstanding junior and we are excited to see her contributions throughout the rest of her time here at BU. Congratulations, Phoebe Wilcox!
