Nia Bartolucci and Claudia Diezmartínez Peregina were both named Switzer Network Fellows for 2023!

🌊 Nia studies how climate change and other anthropogenic impacts are affecting the biogeochemistry and ecosystem function of coastal wetlands

📈 Claudia studies how cities across the US are designing, financing, and implementing policies that not only mitigate or adapt to climate change, but also improve social justice in urban communities.

Twenty environmental scholars have been chosen as 2023 recipients of the Switzer Environmental Fellowship, a program of the Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation that awards environmental leaders a $17,000 cash award and leadership training to support their graduate studies and career development at 16 universities in New England and California. The 20 fellowships total $340,000 in awards. During their fellowship year, Switzer Fellows cultivate their personal leadership skills toward advancing social equity, build relationships and expand their networks through shared experiences with the 2023 cohort and the Switzer Network.
