Sergio Fagherazzi gets a press release from NBC
Dr. Sergio Fagherazzi likens Venice to a “canary in a coalmine,” in NBC’s article profiling the recent flooding in the iconic city, and the implications of world-wide rising sea levels for coastal towns.
“During the normal tides, only a few parts of Venice go underwater,” Fagherazzi said. “Now, because sea levels are higher and higher, what before was an event every 100 years now becomes an event every 20 years.”
