Alumni Spotlight: GSDM Alum’s Family Business Serves Up Ethically Sourced Coffee and Autism-Friendly Work Environments
Malekshah Oskoui DMD 98 ENDO 01 is striving to help those on the autism spectrum–one cup of ethically sourced coffee at a time. Oskoui, along with his wife Mehrnoosh, founded Epic Roastery Coffee Company, a small family business in Appleton, Wisconsin, that roasts high-quality ethically-source coffee and fosters a professional environment where individuals on the autism spectrum can contribute to a local business in a mutually beneficial way.
Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Belinda Borrelli appointed to National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council
Dr. Belinda Borrelli, professor of health policy & health services research and director of the Center for Behavioral Sciences Research, was appointed in January 2025 to serve a three-year term on the National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council (NADCR).

Dr. Raul Garcia, professor and chair of health policy & health services research, was elected vice-president of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR), effective June 2025. He is the first GSDM faculty member to hold this position.

Five GSDM DMD/DMD AS students received honorable mention in the 2024 American Dental Association’s Council on Ethics, Bylaws, and Judicial Affairs’ Student Ethics Video Contest for their video, “The Greedy Cavity.” The winning students are all members of GSDM’s Student Professionalism and Ethics Association.
