Tommie Chavis II DMD 23 elected as an At-Large Board Member to the Society of American Indian Dentists

Please join us in celebrating Tommie Chavis II DMD 23, who has been elected as an At-Large Board Member to the Society of American Indian Dentists (SAID)!

SAID supports the unique concerns of American Indian dentists. Their website states that they are national, non-profit organization of oral health professionals and students dedicated to promoting and improving the oral health of the American Indian/Alaskan Native community and providing advocacy for the American Indian/Alaskan Native dental professionals across the US.

Chavis, a third-year predoctoral dental student at GSDM, is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and is from Red Springs, NC. His profile on SAID’s website states that his mission is to make dentistry an environmentally sustainable industry and to increase equitable access to dental care for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities.
