Travel & Research Grants

CURA is now accepting applications for travel grants to support research and conference attendance among current BU faculty, graduate students, and current and former CURA Fellows. Applicants may request up to $1,000 for domestic travel and up to $2,000 for international travel to attend a conference or conduct research on a subject related to CURA’s mission. Applications are open until March 15 at 11:59 PM ET.

Eligibility

• Be a current BU graduate student, current BU faculty member, current CURA Fellow, or former CURA Fellow.
• Submit a complete application by the deadline. This includes providing a budget (a budget template is linked in the application).
• If a graduate student, provide an email from a faculty member endorsing their conference attendance or research activities.

Please note:

• Awardees must wait until after their travel is completed to receive reimbursement for expenses from CURA. Reimbursements may take 4–6 weeks to process.
• Awardees are responsible for submitting receipts for their expenses in order to receive reimbursement.
• Graduate students may request assistance from the CURA Assistant Director with payment of conference fees or travel bookings.
• Awardees must complete a post-trip report and 3-5 photos to CURA within 30 days of their return, for promotion on CURA’s social media, newsletter and website.
