Summary
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) Actuarial Summer Internship is designed to provide those interested in pursuing an actuarial or healthcare data analytics career with the opportunity to spend the summer working on challenging projects in a professional environment.
Over the twelve week internship, each intern will be supervised by experienced associates from multiple departments within the company. Opportunities are available in actuarial and analytic services, business and actuarial analytics, and provider informatics and negotiations.
This full-time, paid internship is part of a company-wide summer internship program that includes a Day 1 orientation, lunch & learn sessions, a social outing, and an off-site volunteer event. Interns will report to our Boston headquarters located at 101 Huntington Ave.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates meet the following qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students with at least a 3.0 GPA
- Aptitude for math and interest in pursuing an actuarial or healthcare data analytics career
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Relevant coursework in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, and Finance
