In Support of Presenting Alumni, Faculty Lou Chitkushev and John Day attend Paris Conference and Workshop
Alumni Dan Cokley (MET’17) and Leland Smith (MET’16) were selected to present a paper born of a project that began during their time in the course Network Media Technologies (MET CS 635) at the 22nd Conference on Innovation in Clouds, Internet and Networks this past February in Paris, France. The paper, which was also co-authored by current MET student Heather Bell, who was unable to attend the conference, took novel steps to restructure and unify WiFi and VLAN networks in ways that were demonstrably more efficient, more powerful, and more secure. While some may presume that WiFi and VLAN networks are fundamentally different, in actuality both are multiple layers of the same rank on a common media. Associate Professor Lou Chitkushev and Lecturer John Day also made the trip, proudly offering their support and backing for the former MET students.
