Systems Architect

Stephen has over 38 years of industry experience that includes development and architecture on IP switch/router platforms and vertical firmware design and performance analysis for large systems.

Stephen holds a BS in Mathematics from SUNY Albany and an MS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse.  He is an individual and co-inventor on several patents and filings and is a co-author of articles in IEEE Infocom and IBM Systems Journal. His standards body experience at IETF includes authoring RFC-5798.

Stephen’s earlier experience includes mainframe developer roles at Sperry Univac, at IBM as a systems programmer, performance analyst, and large system designer. His IBM networking experience began with proprietary protocol suites and evolved to include development work with RSVP and DiffServ protocols on both CPU and network processor based routers.

Steve is married with two grown and launched children and is interested in metalworking and 3D printing for jewelry, and fishing especially at the Outer Banks.
